James Ronald - Nitro Man theme (guitar cover)
From Mega Man 10 (WiiWare, PSN, XBLA)

I’ve been playing Mega Man 10 recently for the first time, and I have to say, the theme in the game didn’t stick out to me. James makes it sound more memorable and awesome here.

Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1, 1997) - “Decisive Battle”

From the masterful soundtrack of that game, composed by Masaharu Iwata and Hitoshi Sakimoto. This first plays near the beginning of the game, in the battle against the rebels and Milleuda/Miluda. There’s an awesome exchange of dialogue between Milleuda and Argath/Algus in mid-fight (see here). Intense back and forths during the middle of a fight is what adds to the epicness of FFT.

Armcannon has released their new album on Bandcamp. This song stood out to me the most on my first listen of the album, which is a prog rock cover of Chrono Trigger’s “Corridors of Time” (Zeal theme). Really awesome sound.

James Ronald - “Final Fantasy VIII // The Man With The Machine Gun” (guitar cover)
From Final Fantasy VIII (PS1, 1998)

James Ronald is the man of epic game music.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2, 2005) - “Those Who Remain (epilogue)”

M.O.O.N. - “Crystals”
From Hotline Miami (PC, 2012)

Mario Kart 64 (N64, 1997) - Credits/Staff Roll Theme (guitar cover)

Some more Mario Kart goodness. This is a pretty decent cover that captures the spirit of the original melody well.

Mario Kart 64 (N64, 1997) - “Rainbow Road”

This is my favorite Rainbow Road theme. For a compilation of all of them through the years, check out this video. For an awesome Mario Kart medley by James Ronald, which includes this theme, click here.

Chris Amaterasu - “Dream of the Shore Near Another World”
Piano/Violin cover
From Chrono Cross (PS1, 2000)

James Ronald - “A Link to the Past // Dark World”
From The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES, 1991)

This guy is awesome. He does game music under the banner of “Epic Game Music”. I think you can see that he’s living up to that namesake. Check out his Youtube channel for more amazing tunes. I’ll probably post some more of his stuff later.
